First time thoughts

I sometimes feel so inadequate that I think my silence is more golden than my spoken word or appearance. I express myself best when writing than speaking ad lib.

My desire is for Him to continue working on me with patience and intentionally. I trust His beauty and grace. May this space be a ready reminder to me to bloom where I am planted.

The giants of faith inspire me to keep striving for that which is good and eternal. It is my desire to continue looking forward, being useful in my Redeemer's hands and for His purpose, straining in my own feeble way toward the mark of the high calling, and being sober-minded in a distracting world. A life well-lived, reverent yet exuberant, and also meaningful for my audience of One, so help me Lord. Let my words count🙏🏼

  "And whenever the spirit from God came upon Saul, David would pick up his harp and play, and Saul would become well, and the spirit of distress would depart from him." -1 Samuel 16:23 Did you know that every year, the first day of March is used to acknowledge World Music Therapy Day ? It was specifically set aside to recognize and celebrate the healing power of music. According to the organization 'Percussion Play', "music therapy uses music to reduce stress and improve mood and self-expression through listening, singing, paying instruments or composing music."  I'm sure we can all identify a song or a genre of music that we tend to go to when we are feeling down or need our moods to lift. In fact, music has so much reach that it can also have a negative impact on an individual, causing or reinforcing negative emotions, thoughts or behaviours. Being able to harness the effective healing power of music for good is truly the skill of a music therapist. D

"He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His stripes we are healed."  - 1 Peter 2:24 Have you ever done something wrong? I guess we can all answer a sheepish 'Yes' to that question. How about have you ever done something wrong and watched someone else suffer or be punished for it, instead of you? Now this is where it gets sticky. Not many folk would feel comfortable admitting that they allowed someone to suffer because of their actions, and even worse, that they did nothing about it. It doubles the guilt. After all, it is the general in-built moral compass in most if not all of us, that accepts that the person who does wrong is the one who should experience their own consequences.
