Tonight's Word 🌱
"And we desire for each one of you to show the same diligence [all the way through] so as to realize and enjoy the full assurance of hope until the end."
- Hebrews 6:11
I stumbled across this photo over a decade ago. I saw a resilient tree, holding on to barely any soil, and yet it found a way to survive. Its roots searched for and found something to hold on to, and dare we say, it even appears to be thriving, against all odds. In life, many, if not all of us, at one point in time or another, may find ourselves in circumstances or seasons where we may feel like this tree. You may have been crowded out of your comfort zone by grief, despair, unfulfilled desire, displacement, need, depression, disappointments, challenges, struggles, the cares and worries of this life. You may find it difficult to find your way back to a place of assurance, stability or security, contentment or fulfilment.
Tonight, be reminded that all is not lost. Like this tree, as long as we have life, we can always find a source of hope. If we but allow our roots to tap into the ultimate source of hope which is found in our heavenly Father. He assures us in His Word that nothing in this world is as certain as the hope we have in Him, and that the hope we find in Him gives us peace. "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7). Whatever we may feel we are lacking in, we can be rich in Him.
Is something or someone, a situation or a season trying to steal your joy? Like the frog in this picture, it refuses to be eaten and die, and as long as it is alive, it has fight in Him. He reminds me that "we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves and strengthen us". - Romans 8:37.
The enemy finds pleasure in seeing us lose sight of and hope in God. God makes it His duty to restore, to strengthen, to refresh, to remind us of His love, and His desire to make all things new one day, when there will be no more sickness, death, sadness or pain. Let us hold on to the hope we find in our Creator. Hold on! Jesus is coming soon!
The song below is a precious song I learned many years ago by heart, and it buoys the spirit anytime I hear it. Before we listen to the video below, let us pray.
Prayer:
Father, thank you for the many blessings you have given us on this earth to buoy our spirits, and even the sorrows that remind us that this world is not our home, and that we are just passing through. Thank You for the hope we find in you, and may we always have a reason to hold on, to keep fighting the good fight. Thank You for the Word, where we can find all your precious words and promises of life, love, hope and peace. Guard our hearts and minds in you, Father, give us the peace that passes all earthly understanding. May we be examples of resilience that is made possible by the hope we find in you. Bless and reclaim each troubled heart even now dear Father. In Jesus' precious name, Amen.
Be blessed and encouraged by the song below. 🎧🙂🙏🏽
Amen
