Tonight's Word 🌱
I thank God every time I remember you.
- Philippians 1:3
Sometimes, just sometimes, we ought to stop, reflect, and appreciate what we truly have before it becomes 'had'. Tonight I just want to say a simple Thank You to my mother, for the many complicated things she did for me that were simplified by love.
Thank you for your patience, your love, your sacrifices, your training and your nurturing. Thank you for trying to protect us even when things were hard. Thank you for being my most silent supporter in the background, yet my biggest cheerleader. Thank you for continually trying to be the best role model you can be. Thank you for putting up with me, on my moody days, my tired days, the days when I just feel like retreating to my quiet shell. Thank you for guiding me on the straight path, for being a Christian mother, for loving the Lord, for your many many prayers. Thank you for thinking of us when you find a new recipe, or a funny video, or a new flower or plant you are excited about.
“Life began with waking up and loving my mother’s face.” —George Eliot
Thank you for using the little you had, to do things that meant so much to us. Thank you for walking us to and from school and church as children. For being there to greet us at home as adults, for talking about any and all kinds of things, or as we jokingly say, 'hablando como los locos'.
Thank you for teaching us my first songs, for the many Bible stories you told, the many games you played and even invented, and for the fights as children you refereed. Thank you for your songs.
Thank you for being the first person to ever read my blog, every single time. I listen to you read aloud every single word, and listen to every single song. This post is for you😊🎈💝
This post is also for all the mothers out there, and all the children who have known their mothers. Maybe some of the things I shared are things you can relate to also. What are you thankful for about your mum? What is the best memory you have of her? 🙂
And finally, do enjoy the song below, which is my mum's favorite hymn. I can see why she likes it. It is indeed a beautiful song. Be blessed 🎧😎
I will sing of my Redeemer [Fernando Ortega]
