Tonight's Word 🌹

"Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her!"
-Luke 1:45

Hello friends, I am sure by now you would have noticed this week that the world acknowledged International Women's Day. The strengths of women, the value and contribution of women, the beauty and timelessness of women, were all encouraged and affirmed. It is interesting, however, despite the accolades of the female gender, women often forget how precious we are. This may be due to many varied factors. Seasons of hardship, neglect, mistreatment, loss, abuse, exploitation, failure of protectors, the absence of fathers/father figures, and many other effects of a sinful world, all tend to influence a woman's self-perception and perhaps, even forget her worth.

Tonight, I want to remind you, (and indeed myself in the process) that God has placed His image in us just as much as He has placed in our male counterparts. The Bible tells us that He has created us, fashioned us, crafted us, breathed into us, watched us and declared: It is good! - two beautiful reflections of the image of God.

The Bible highlights many stories and examples of women. Jesus, in His ever-healing ministry, made it His duty to call out to the daughter in the women around Him, lifting their heads, and their hearts to Him, because He understood the silent struggles and supported justice. He reminds us even today that He sees us, He understand us, He wants to lift up our heads and He wants to meet our deepest needs - the need to love and be loved. He is saying today to each of us, He loves us, and His love first, is sufficient for us.

I do know that for every woman who receives this, it is evident that our strengths and weaknesses, our likes and dislikes, experiences and perspectives, our backgrounds and maybe even language, our preferences and expectations all vary just as much as our personalities, and appearances. AND no matter what, we ALL matter to God. We are still His daughters, even when we forget it.

He has made important promises in His Word to us as women. As we seek to understand and grow our faith, may we also grow in the knowledge and purpose, that we are ambassadors to His goodness, to His Fatherhood, to His mercy, and grace. Let us share this with the world today.

Prayer
Father, thank you for being the One who sees and truly understands all our joys, challenges and pains. Keep us faithful to You, as we hold on to and apply Your promises in the Word. Even when we can't naturally see them becoming a reality, renew our portion of grace and faith long enough until we can see them come to pass. Continue to hold us close to You, continue to love us according to our deepest and most innermost needs. Strengthen us, and as we live and serve those around us in our everyday lives, give us the grace, wisdom, resilience and patience that is needed. Your grace is sufficient for us. May our joy in You be our strength. Teach us Your way, allow Your reflection to grow and develop within us. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Be blessed by the following song which was a blessing to me this week. 🎧🙏🏽🙂

  1. I am thankful to know that God made me a woman. It seems like the world is confused as to what that means these days. But I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
