Tonight's Word 🌱
"Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
- Romans 8: 37-39 🌱
Have you ever been told that Jesus loves you? I recently received this reminder from at least two sources, and it was good to be reminded. It also caused me to reflect. I am pretty sure there have been times when we have been told this and it registers in our brains in the same way when we hear our parents say that they love us. We tend to take it for granted, because we assume they have to love us. As we mature however, we tend to be able to appreciate that love even more, because we develop a deeper understanding of just how much this love has shaped, stabilized and supported us, through everything.
The love of Jesus can also be forgotten and taken for granted when we haven't grown to fully understand and appreciate Him and His sacrifice for us. Thankfully, like the apostle Paul who came to the beautiful conclusion in tonight's verse of scripture, when we go through various experiences in life, oh how sweet and meaningful His love becomes to us. His love reaches us past our unlovable-ness (if that is a word), past our hurts, failures, sins, and circumstances, and touches the core of who we are. It is deep, it is eternal, it is healing, it is empowering, it is an anchor, it is a place of strength and comfort. And it is worth our lifetime response to love Him back with all our heart and mind and soul.
None of us are immune to the enemy who takes delight in seeing us disoriented and lead away from loving relationship with our Father. Be reminded, and also remind someone that we should let nothing separate us from the assurance of Christ's love for us, and let us keep our hearts open to His hope, His faith and His love. Be blessed as we enjoy and reflect on the reminder in song below. 🙏🏼
PS: Which one do you prefer? I loved them both. 🙂
Very comforting ♥️
ReplyDeleteBoth are very comforting. Love them!
ReplyDeleteI especially like what you said here: "The love of Jesus can also be forgotten and taken for granted when we haven't grown to fully understand and appreciate Him and His sacrifice for us." Thanks so much, Dora! And with the music, I like the first one (with the lady singing) as I can hear the words better, but the second one is simply astounding with its instrumentals and musical arrangement - I can see why you like them both!
